The email behind my $5,000 ChatGPT Deep Research award—and part of the idea. This is a screenshot of Wazoku’s original award email from 29 May 2025, cropped to remove private headers. On 10 June, Wazoku confirmed verification was complete and said payment was being sent for processing. The proposal was “Cross-Laminated Polyethylene (CLP) Panels for Large-Scale Modular Construction.” A short excerpt from the AI-generated solution: “Layered Sheets: Multiple PE layers—possibly blends of HDPE for rigidity and LDPE for bonding flexibility—are oriented at 90° or 45° angles to achieve cross-lamination.” “Co-extrusion & Lamination: Sheets are fused under heat and pressure, forming panels that can be standardized in size and thickness.” In plain language, the idea was to investigate whether layered polyethylene panels could be useful for modular structures, including temporary shelters and agricultural buildings. The proposal also considered recycled material, UV protection and possible reinforcement. These were proposed design choices. The submission itself identified structural validation, fire safety, manufacturing costs and building-code testing as work still needed. It was an early concept, not demonstrated engineering performance.
